Prof. Budowle was graduated with B.A. Biology from King College at Bristol, Tennessee, USA. Later on, he took his PhD degree in Genetics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Virginia, USA. |

Prof. Budowle is currently the Executive Director at the Institute of Applied
Genetics at The University of North Texas Health Science Center. At the same
time he is a Professor and Vice Chair at the Department of Forensic and
Investigative Genetics at the same university. Among his long list of present
assignments, he currently serves as a Member of Scientific Working Group for the
NIAID-funded Bioinformatics Resource Center (BRC) at The Institute for Genomic
Research (TIGR), a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Health Science and
Medicine, Bond University, Gold Coast, Australia, a Member of the Technical
Advisory Group to the Board of the Houston Forensic Science, LGC, Inc., a Member
of the Expert Working Group on Human Factors in Latent Print Analysis, NIST and
NIJ.

He also serves as an Editorial Board member for a number of journals including
Forensic Science Communications, Legal Medicine -Japanese Society of Legal
Medicine, BioTechniques, American Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology,
Editorial/Advisory Board for International Journal of Legal Medicine, and
Co-Editor-in-Chief for BMC Investigative Genetics.

Some of the honors he was awarded with are the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Recognition Award (1981), United States Attorney General's Award for Exceptional Service (1991), Forensic Scientist of the Year, MAAFS (1996), FBI Director's Award for Excellence in Investigative Support (2000) and Health Care Hero Award, Dallas Business Journal (2010).

Among Prof. Budowle's research Interests are Forensic Science, Genetic Marker Systems, Technique Development, Molecular Biology, Population Genetics, Human Genetics, Microbial Forensics and Pharmacogenomics.

|
Prof. Budowle published more than 512 papers in very prestigious scientific journals, he co-authored 7 books & videos and gave more than 623 abstracts & presentations in different parts of the globe. |
